Grim Highlight: A chainsaw cutting through Ash's hand Most of the gore in Evil Dead 2 does not come from fight scenes, but rather from traditional horror set-ups involving supernatural baddies. However, the fight between Ash and his own hand is worthy of inclusion on this list. It's a hilarious set-up for a violent scene: the hand that Ash knows and loves begins to attack him after being bitten by one of the demons that is pillaging the cabin, and Ash has to make the decision to fight back against himself. And while the scene is initially humorous it takes a turn for the disturbing when Ash realizes the hand has to be removed, after a tumultuous fight he ultimately stabs his own hand to the floorboard before taking it off with the very chainsaw he uses to replace his hand. As he is removing the hand with a surprising lack of personal pain, blood squirts out all over his face as well as further sullying an already disgusting shirt. Ash later has to fight his undead hand when he puts it in a box and covers the box with books so the hand can't get out. The book on top of the pile is A Farewell to Arms. Classic comedy.
