For those of you unfortunate souls who have yet to see the indie horror flick Shrooms, you've missed a veritable delight. Do yourself a favor and check it out immediately: it€™s not nearly as campy as it sounds. The story follows a group of college students from America to Ireland in search of these truly potent psychedelic mushrooms with the aid of a native Irishman that our main character, Tara, has some sort of relationship with. Inevitably, she starts chomping down on the wrong types of mushrooms and things go badly from there. A second one is being made because the fans of the first demanded another, if that tells you anything. The original director has not made any comments about his involvement with the project, but fans do hope he decides to return. He managed to build the tension and horror in the exact waves you would expect if you were actually tripping on mushrooms, which was a nice touch. There will, undoubtedly, be a new group of faces, a whole new adventure, but Vertigo Films is moving forward and it will apparently be released in 3D. Imagine those trips€ No release date is set on this yet, it is still in development, but when fans clamour hard enough for sequels, they usually get them.
