14 Horror Film Sequels You Didn't Know Were In The Works

9. Cloverfield 2 (Working Title)

Another film that is still in early development, Cloverfield 2 has been much discussed, but no one has really put any pen to paper... until now. Since the original was released to great success a sequel has always been thrown about as an idea. And that's despite the concern that once a monster is revealed, what more can a film series that relied so heavily on hiding it for effect actually do? It looks like Drew Goddard, screenwriter of the original as well as Cabin In The Woods and World War Z, is going to tell us. He€™s signed on as the untitled Cloverfield sequel€™s writer, which is nice. But what could this new film be about? According to an interview with Matt Reeves, director of the original Cloverfield, it's possible this might be a movie about the same night. He talks about a scene in the original where audiences watch an unnamed character also armed with a camera watching the main character, Hud, on the Brooklyn Bridge. He has said that it seemed as if there was something there; "in my mind, that was two movies intersecting for a brief moment". However, nothing has been released as far as the actual story line. With an estimated budget of $100,000,000 (a full $75M more than the first was given), this movie will have everything it needs to be as good as the first. Look out for it in 2018.
