14 Most Out Of Place Scenes In Movie History

9. The Romeo & Juliet Law - Transformers: Age Of Extinction

The Scene: During a moment of downtime from all the robot action, protagonist Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) comes face to face with his daughter Tessa's (Nicola Peltz) older boyfriend Shane (Jack Raynor).

Cade flips once he learns that Shane is 20 years old, making any sexual contact between him and a 17-year-old Tessa illegal...until Shane explains Texas' Romeo and Juliet law, which grants an exclusion for those who have a "pre-existing juvenile foundational relationship", as the pair previously dated in high school.

Why It's Out Of Place: Does a movie about robots smashing the crap out of each other, one aimed at kids no less, really need to stop for a full minute and hand-waive statutory rape?

Why couldn't Tessa have just been 18 years old? It's such a mind-bogglingly bizarre decision, that someone wrote this scene, it was greenlit, shot and somehow made it into the final cut of the movie.

It's a 165-minute movie, and if there's any single scene that could've been lost, it's surely this one.
