14 Movie Franchises You Had No Idea Still Existed

The 1990 Kevin Bacon-starring creature feature Tremors is a damn fun time in its own right, and so it's not at all surprising that it spawned a franchise, though one that's endured this long without Bacon? Absolutely.

There's one reason the Tremors series continues to thrive, and that's Michael Gross' hilarious performance as eccentric survivalist Burt Gummer. Having appeared in all five movies to date, Gummer graduated to franchise protagonist and mascot by the third film.

His charming performance generally carries the films through even their rougher moments, namely the addition of Jamie Kennedy as his son in 2015's Tremors 5: Bloodlines, the first Tremors film in over a decade.

The sixth film, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, is already in the can and due out on DVD this May, and for as long as Gummer is around and happy to make these films, they don't seem likely to stop.
