You've most certainly heard of The Amityville Horror one way or another, but did you know that over the last four decades, the dubious franchise has churned out an incredible 19 films?

The only especially well-known entries are the original Amityville trilogy, running from 1979 to 1983, and the 2005 Ryan Reynolds-starring remake, with a litany of straight-to-video entries steadily shot and released either side. Hell, in 2016, four low-budget sequels were released within a mere period of four months.

Dimension Films attempted a more robust franchise revival with the theatrically-released Amityville: The Awakening last year, but it bombed at the box office and will likely keep the franchise locked in the straight-to-video dungeon for the foreseeable future.

It sure as hell ain't dying, though.
