14 Movie Posters And DVD Covers That Blatantly Lied To You

9. Camp Hell

Fantastic Four WTF Poster
Lionsgate

With this awful horror film about a spiritual retreat, Jesse Eisenberg’s face is slapped on the poster and all of the marketing. In fact, he’s the only actor featured on the cover at all, with his name right there above the title as if he’s the main star.

Hell, there's even a second image of him on the back, so this is clearly his film, right? In reality, he’s in the movie for less than five minutes. That pictures of him on the back of the DVD is from his only scene.

How shameless is that?

This was in 2010, around the time Eisenberg was blowing up for his performances in Zombieland and The Social Network, so the marketing department at Lionsgate decided they’d lie to everyone and pretend they got Eisenberg to star in their awful film. He was so pissed off about it, he actually filed a $3 million lawsuit against Lionsgate, hoping to “warn his fans and the public that, contrary to [the film’s advertising], Eisenberg is not the star and does not appear in a prominent role in Camp Hell.”

Finally, someone to stand up for crappy, misleading posters. Thanks for fighting the good fight, Jesse.
