7. Arlington Road

Arlington Road is an absolute corker of a 1999 suspense-thriller revolving around a professor (Jeff Bridges) who comes to believe that his neighbours (Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack) may be terrorists.

Sadly the film's trailers left incredibly little to the imagination, playing up Robbins' guilt to the point that the big reveal - that, yes, he really is a terrorist - isn't surprising at all.

Perhaps the strategy here was to make it so obvious audiences would assume they were being trolled, but sadly it backfired horribly. Still a great movie, though.
