14 Movies That Will Make You Glad You're Single

12. The Dark Knight

I think that Christopher Nolan is a really talented guy, I enjoy his films and he's helped introduce slightly more avant-garde narrative structures to mainstream audiences. Unfortunately though his female characters tend to be pretty weak, Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight is no exception. Let's remember that had Rachel never existed, Harvey would have never become Two-Face and Batman wouldn't have to take a fall for his crimes, meaning less mansion-moping in the sequel. Seriously, at most, TDK takes place a year after Batman Begins and Rachel wasn't with Harvey by the end of that film so how long have they realistically been an item for? I know people that have been through the loss of a partner and it affected them deeply, they went through a lot. But at the end they came out swinging and tore depression a new one. Harvey was about to shoot a kid guys, A KID! If love can make the best of us into monsters then it may be a journey best left alone.
