6. The Genie Can Only Grant Wishes He Can Hear -Aladdin

The Rule

The genie is bound by certain rules: he can't kill anyone, he can't make anyone fall in love, and he grant wishes for more wishes (though at no stage does he say you can't wish for more genies) and the logistics of a wish are that the master will say it, and the genie will grant it.

But Wait...

Despite the fact that he has already said he will not be tricked into giving any false wishes, and thus is going to stick rigidly to the rules of his lamp, the genie saves Aladdin's life when he's about to drown. When Jafar sends the street rat to the bottom of the ocean, the genie literally puts words into his master's mouth to save him for certain death, despite the fact that one second early he says "you can't cheat on this one, I can't help you unless you make a wish..."

Officially, that's Aladdin's second wish, after he wishes to be made a Prince, but it requires a fairly substantial bending of the rules, to the point where you have to wonder why the genie didn't just do the same thing to the first person who rubbed him out of the lamp?
