14 Star Wars Original Trilogy Easter Eggs You Need To See

9. IG-88's Body On Cloud City

Star Wars may have boasted some revolutionary special effects, but the production wasn't made of money. Financed primarily by Lucas himself, there were multiple corners cut; by their creator's own admission the visual effects weren't as good as they could have been, while in plenty of props were reused. One of the most interesting has to be the journey of IG-88.

The robot bounty hunter who is employed by Darth Vader to find the Millennium Falcon, 88's head is actually a painted part from the Mos Eisley Cantina in Episode IV. It doesn't end there though; a white version of his body can be seen later on in the incinerator room on Cloud City (where Chewbacca finds the blasted parts of C-3PO).

The Expanded Universe provides some context to this cameo. It turns out the bountry hunter we see in the films is IG-88B, one of four identical assassin droids who were plotting to stage a droid revolution. He tracked Boba to Cloud City, but was stopped from claiming the bounty on Han Solo when Fett tricked and destroyed him.
