14 Stupid Blunders That Ruined Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
11. All The Wasted Characters
The Rise of Skywalker may have finally had Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe (Oscar Isaac) together for an adventure, but other characters from previous films are unnecessarily sidelined in this one.
Leia wasn't really wasted because they only had so much footage of Carrie Fisher they could use since she passed away long before this even started shooting, and it was a miracle she was even in it as much as she was. But the same can't be said for the likes of Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong'o) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran).
Maz was an interesting character introduced in The Force Awakens, and there was plenty of intrigue as to who she was and how exactly she had Luke and Anakin's old lightsaber (which was never answered). She only appeared in The Last Jedi via hologram cameo, and unfortunately she's sidelined in The Rise of Skywalker as well.
Rose Tico was a major character in The Last Jedi, and clearly meant to become a part of the main group. Alas, thanks to Internet trolls and angry fanboys who hated her, she does nothing in this film, even refusing to tag along with Finn, Rey, and Poe. She may as well have not been in this movie at all.
There's even new characters introduced who are pointless. Zorri Bliss (Keri Russel) is interesting, but we only learn a bit about her and her past with Poe, then she disappears until also pulling a deus ex machina into the final battle. Come on, guys.
