14 Terrible Looking 2017 Movies That Will Shockingly Make A Profit
12. Smurfs: The Lost Village
Release Date: April 7
Why It Looks Terrible: It's a Smurfs movie for one, and they don't exactly have the most stellar track record with critics or anyone over the age of about six. In fairness, it does look slightly more tolerable than the live-action-animation hybrid Smurfs films of recent years, but the humour looks lowest-common denominator (even for a film aimed squarely at toddlers) and the voice-work more irritatingly hyperactive than cute and fun.
Why It'll Still Make A Profit: The two prior Smurfs movies made $563.7 million and $347.5 million respectively, so there's very little danger of this one bombing, especially as it's fully-animated, which has generally proven to be more profitable than hybrid movies.
It'll be an easy babysitting tool for parents, and that's really all it needs to be in order to rustle up a few hundred mil at the worldwide box office.
