14 Upcoming Movie Remakes That Might Not Actually Suck

David Lynch's 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel is one of the most staggeringly ambitious, not to mention controversial, movies of the 1980s, one which bombed critically and commercially and caused Lynch to quickly distance himself from the project altogether.

The upcoming remake has roped in the tremendously talented Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival) to direct the first entry into a planned franchise, and considering his previous successes, it's easy to be optimistic that he'll do proper justice to Herbert's vision.

Above all else, it's incredibly unlikely he'll turn in a more polarising effort than Lynch's attempt, so as long as Legendary Entertainment lets him do his thing, this could be an absolute classic.
