14 Upcoming Movie Remakes That Might Not Actually Suck

8. The Green Hornet

The most high-profile adaptation of The Green Hornet to date is the Seth Rogen and Jay Chou-starring 2011 comedy movie, which was essentially a colossally over-budgeted misfire for director Michel Gondry, and its mediocre box office performance quickly tanked any prospect of a franchise.

With Hollywood believing audiences have the memories of goldfish, a remake is already on the horizon with Gavin O'Connor (Warrior, The Accountant) set to direct and videogame writer Sean O'Keefe (Lair) providing the script.

Again, the bar is set incredibly low here, but considering O'Connor's well-honed chops in the action arena, there's a good chance this one succeeds assuming it finds the right team of actors to play Britt Reid and Kato.
