14 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed (And Why)

13. Untitled Cloverfield Sequel

Cloverfield Clover
Paramount

Release Date: April 20

Why It's Doomed: The third entry into the Cloverfield franchise, originally named God Particle, was shot over the summer of 2016, and after slipping an entire year from its original February 2017 date, was once again delayed from February 2018 to April 2018 mere weeks before it was set to come out (without a single trailer or poster in sight).

Though at first it seemed like the J.J. Abrams-produced project was simply trying to preserve its mystery, much like 10 Cloverfield Lane did so successfully, it's becoming increasingly easier to believe that the film is just a disaster of a production.

With a young filmmaker at the helm with no prior experience in effects-heavy movies (Julius Onah) and the recent announcement that the original title has been changed, apparently because that element of the plot has been removed in post-production, little encouraging has emerged about the film as of late.

Needless to say, when the first trailer finally drops, it needs to be an absolute home-run to restore faith in the project.
