8. Anya Taylor-Joy - The New Mutants

The Role: Illyana Rasputin aka Magik, a Russian mutant and the sister of Colossus, who possesses magic powers and uses teleportation discs to travel.

Anya Taylor-Joy is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood right now, giving splendid performances in the likes of The Witch, Barry, Split and Thoroughbreds, and is set to light up the screen once again in two superhero movies next year, Glass and The New Mutants.

While it was just a matter of time before the actress won herself a juicy part in a tentpole film, the early word on The New Mutants isn't very encouraging at all, with the movie being delayed extensively while it undergoes re-shoots.

Re-shoots aren't necessarily a bad sign, of course, but their comprehensive nature and the rumours of the movie's release being possibly cancelled amid the Disney-Fox merger aren't massively encouraging signs of its quality.

Whatever the outcome, it probably won't be a high-point of Taylor-Joy's career so far, and a bit of a depressing introduction to bigger-budget fare for her.
