14 Washed-Up TV Shows In Desperate Need Of Cancellation

11. The Big Bang Theory

Few shows on TV right now are as insanely successful as The Big Bang Theory, signified no better than by the fact that the three lead actors, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, and Kaley Cuoco, recently signed new contracts for $1 million per episode. The show was recently renewed through to its tenth season, but the problem is, like so many comedy shows, The Big Bang Theory has abandoned originality and transformed its characters into caricatures of who they were in the first place. After amassing 7-10 million viewers in its first season, the show has gone from strength to strength ratings-wise, with last year's seventh season racking up 16-20 million viewers per episode. As such, the show could conceivably continue to air for years and years even if those ratings suddenly halved, but given that the jokes are the same in every episode, the engagement with nerd culture is surface-deep at best, and these days it lacks the personality and originality that made it popular, it's a show that really needs to die. While showrunner Chuck Lorre has stated that a 10th season may be the last, if the current viewing figures persist, don't expect the show to disappear from our screens any time soon.
