14 Washed-Up TV Shows In Desperate Need Of Cancellation

10. Bones

Bones has never been a particularly original or inventive show, but the excellent casting of stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz is what made it work. Their characters were infinitely more interesting than the cases they were investigating, and the sexual tension between Deschanel's Temperance Brennan and Boreanaz's Seeley Booth is really what made the show so fun to watch in its earlier seasons. However, the "Frasier problem" won out in the end, that once the romantic relationship was finally consummated, the show's inherent tension was gone, and it began its slow decline in quality. After the pair first hooked up in season 5, by the tenth season they've had a daughter and gotten married, so what really is left for the show to do? Frankly, it's impressive that the show is still drumming up solid viewing figures, though going by the murder of Lance Sweets in the season 10 premiere, it's resorted to desperate plot twists to keep itself feeling fresh and relevant. The show has in effect been winding down ever since that season 5 kiss: the showrunners just need to realise this and give it a half-dignified end before it's too late.
