Notable mostly for featuring leading lady of the moment Ana des Armas (of Blade Runner 2049 and Knives Out fame) in a central role, this flat, molasses slow ostensible thriller is nonetheless all but unwatchable despite the best efforts of both Armas and her co-star, leading man Tye Sheridan.

Sheridan builds on the promise he showed in Ready Player One as the titular night clerk, an unassuming troubled young man drawn into a world of intrigue when he uncovers a plot during an otherwise routine shift.

Unfortunately, the actor is once again one of few things to recommend about this predictable, boring mystery from the director of 1999’s earlier flop, the similarly slow and self-satisfied social thriller Body Shots.
