15 Acclaimed Recent Movies That Are (Probably) Doomed To Receive A Backlash

It'd be great to be wrong about this, as Black Panther is a really good film, but movies which have been as hyped up as this are often subject to backlash.

Black Panther has been talked about an awful lot since its release, there's been a fair amount of hyperbole written about it and it was also nominated for Best Picture. As such, it might become one of those films people turn on because they're just a bit fed up of hearing about it.

As well as this, despite Black Panther's high level of quality, it's not a perfect film. The protagonist, although well-played, isn't very interesting and it isn't really that different from other modern superhero films in many ways (especially the third act), so that might further cause some to feel less warm towards it once they revisit it.

There flaws could make all the hyperbolic reviews and the film's Best Picture nomination ring fairly hollow, especially since there have been quite a few other superhero movies, such as The Dark Knight and Logan, which deserved Best Picture nominations as much or more.

Black Panther is arguably not an overrated film at all; rather, it's over-exposed and this could cause a backlash. Hopefully not though.
