Alex Pettyfer has everything he needs to be a big star - good looks, solid American accent and a mildly embarrassing younger performance to be referenced in articles on his fame (thanks Alex Rider) - and yet instead remains on the sidelines with supporting roles in the likes of Magic Mike. It doesn't help that he has a pretty bad track record of picking leading roles, although that could have changed with Peeta. Pettyfer was a name tossed about in the weeks leading up to Josh Hutcherson's casting, as much a contender as the ultimate star or Hunter Parrish. He's so intriguing a choice because he's almost too dashing for the role, which would have probably pushed the love triangle element of the film to greater prominence. Probably for the best he missed out then.
