The introduction of victors of previous games into the mix for the Quarter Quell meant that for Catching Fire the series could cast older - no need to get people who look like teenagers any more. This led to a mad scramble amongst Hollywood twenty-somethings for the role of Finnick Odair, a key character in the final two books/three films. According to E! Online, several big twenty-something stars were in the running for the role, including Armie Hammer. Hammer was then filming The Lone Ranger, which, coupled with the potential of a part in this franchise, looked set to push his career into the stratosphere. It didn't really go to plan, with Ranger bombing spectacularly at the box office and Catching Fire casting a relative unknown, but there's still time.
