When a massively popular young adult property starts casting young adults, you're naturally going to get fans of the material eager to get involved. It happened on a mass scale with Harry Potter and you can bet it happened with the wizarding adventure's successor to the teenage box office throne. Chloë Moretz, who rose to fame playing the foul-mouthed, pre-teen assassin Hit-Girl, was linked with Katniss from the off. She was clear fan favourite and, as a lover of the books herself, incredibly eager to be involved. Even younger than Breslin, it's unlikely she was as seriously considered as other candidates, but there was always the potential. Moretz accidentally fuelled rumours of her involvement - in an interview with MTV she said she'd "just booked a huge project Youre gonna die when you find out, its huge!" That project ended up being Dark Shadows. She needs to learn the definition of huge (and read scripts before signing on).
