Magic Mike fans will be well aware that Joe Manganiello has the build to play a superhero, and it was nearly the case for the 38-year-old Pittsburgh native. He auditioned for the part of Superman in Zack Snyder€™s Man of Steel, but eventually lost out to Jersey boy Henry Cavill. Manganiello hasn€™t given up on appearing as an on-screen hero, however, and he would like it to stand out in what he believes is becoming a saturated market:

"There's so many superhero projects out there that it is almost like they're becoming normal. So I want to do one that just flips it on its head and makes it crazy. I want to make the Fight Club of superhero movies."

If he wanted to follow a route away from the Marvel€™s Cinematic Universe and DC€™s Extended Universe, he may want to contact Sony and try to get himself involved in their five-film deal with Valiant Comics, which begins with Bloodshot in 2017 and will end with Harbinger Wars, a movie based on Valiant€™s 2013 comic of the same name.
