15 Actors Who Stupidly Turned Down Billion Dollar Movies

1. Denzel Washington - Furious 7

Denzel Washington probably doesn't need to work any more: he's still an Oscar-worthy actor, even after capturing some of the most definitive performances in modern cinema, and huge projects fall into his lap because of who he is and what he brings.

One such huge project was Furious 7, the mega-bucks cinematic farewell to Paul Walker, in which Washington would have played Mr Nobody by the sound of the description set up by Deadline:

The studio is now looking for another big star to join the next film in a small role and then be a big part of the film that follows. Denzel Washington just turned down that opportunity, but they’ll undoubtedly get somebody important by the time The Conjuring helmer James Wan starts shooting the seventh film.

What He Made Instead

The Equalizer. Ultimately a better role for Washington than a small supporting cameo, but nowhere near as successful by a factor of more than 10.
