15 Actors Who Were FIRED From Movies During Production

3. Many Cast Members - The Good Dinosaur

2015 film The Good Dinosaur had the most troublesome production in the history of Pixar. Not only was the animated feature massively delayed, the director and several key crewmembers were fired in mid-production.

In addition to those problems, several actors were also replaced. Now, this isn't the first time a role was recast in the middle of a Disney production. In Hercules, James Woods replaced John Lithgow as Hades. In Finding Nemo, Albert Brooks replaced William H. Macy as Marlin.

In those cases, though, one actor was fired. For The Good Dinosaur, that movie got rid of most of the main cast, including Judy Greer, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, and John Lithgow (again).

Annoyingly, these Hollywood stars were let go through no fault of their own. When new director Peter Sohn joined the production, he restructured the story, removing many central characters. Even though the main cast had recorded most of their dialogue, their characters no longer existed in the final film. The only main actor that wasn’t recast was Frances McDormand, who voices Momma.
