Kevin Spacey was cast as billionaire industrialist in the 2017 film, All the Money in the World. After Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct, Christopher Plummer was recast in the role.

Astoundingly, the production team made this decision less than six weeks before the film's premiere. Not only would the reshoot cost an extra $10 million, Plummer was expected to learn all his lines in two weeks and perform his scenes in eight days.

Although this sounds like a Herculean task, Plummer was already familiar with the script since he auditioned for the role and got down to the final two. Despite his lack of preparation, Plummer managed to bag an Oscar-nomination for his performance. Since he was 88 years old at the time, he became the oldest actor ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Even though Spacey filmed all of his scenes, director Ridley Scott stated he has no intention of ever releasing the footage.
