2. Dr. Kirk Langstrom a.k.a Man-Bat

Ok, we€™re heading way off the Nolan path with this inclusion, but as a Batman fan, Man-Bat appeals to the comic book carnage lover in me. Dr Kirk Langstrom is a brilliant scientist who specializes in the study of bats. When working on a serum designed to give deaf humans the sonar ability that bats possess, Langstrom decides to test the formula on himself (yeah, because that always works out just fine). Perhaps predictably, this untested serum has devastating effects to Langstrom€™s physiology. I mean technically it works, it does give him the sonar ability however it also turns him into a giant rampaging Bat monster until, who else, Batman is able to figure out a way to reverse the effects. As yet we haven€™t seen Batman deal with a marauding beast on film €“ a marauding psychopath sure, but never a beast. The way I see it, technology is at a stage now where the Man-Bat could be convincingly created on screen and if the franchise is to stay fresh as it passes on to a new director, I can€™t see why including some classic comic book insanity (after all, Man-Bat is no more insane than anything we€™ve seen in the Avengers, right?) would necessarily be a deal breaker.
