10. Tim Drake a.k.a Robin

Drake initially took over Robin duties after Jason Todds death, but was a much less troubled character. At just nine years of age, Drake deduces the identity of both Batman and Robin, and aids Bats in getting over the death of his former protégé. With his secret fully exposed Batman had no real choice other than to accept Drake as the new Robin. Drakes process of becoming Robin was supremely successful; so much so that in 2011 he was named #32 in IGNs top 100 Comic Book Heroes, which, when you consider that hes essentially a sidekick, is a pretty huge accolade. Current DC continuity (which was shaken up after the recent New 52 Universe reboot) casts him not as Robin, but as Red Robin meaning he could easily be slotted into continuity as a second sidekick. You could even argue that Drake could be inserted while still preserving Nolans continuity; Bruce Wayne comes back from his self-imposed exile and he and John Blake join forces as Batman and Robin. Then, after deducing the location of the Batcave, Tim Drake (maybe even renamed Tim
Blake and cast as a relative of Joseph Gordon Levitts character), the dynamic duo are all but forced to accept him. Et voila: one movie Bat-family, which would, for me, support the idea of a wider DC continuity in relation to the upcoming Justice League film.
