The Plot: A massage therapist, Beatriz (Salma Hayek), attends a wealthy client's fancy business dinner after her car breaks down, and near-instantly creates tension by challenging their upper-class fancies.

Why It's Awesome: Almost entirely confined to a single house, this comic drama sees Salma Hayek deliver arguably the best performance of her career, at once fiery and brutally sad, while John Lithgow is also in peak form as the arrogant honcho whose mind she attempts to change.

Though it gets no points for subtlety regarding its political message, the deliciously cringe-inducing awkwardness of the central scenario and perceptive examination of class divide makes it one of the year's must-see indies.
