15 Awful Endings That Ruined Potentially Great Films

10. Superman (1978)

What is the one way to defeat the super hero who can do practically anything? Nope, not Kryptonite. That€™s right, give his movie a ridiculous ending that undermines all the good work done by the filmmakers until that moment. Even though Superman is set on earth, he had to go flying up into space and ruin the entire film didn€™t he? It€™s a pity he could not have read this list first, or perhaps even the most rudimentary time-space theory, because what was essentially a very good superhero film, before the days when too much CGI took the challenge out of making them realistic, was shattered by the ending. The Ending That Ruined The Film Finding Lois Lane dead, after the ground opened up, swallowed her car and buried her alive, Superman does the only thing he can think of: fly really fast up into space and then around the world so many times that somehow the earth spins the other way and goes back in time€? What? If that were even remotely possible all those satellites circumnavigating the globe would be playing absolute havoc with our clocks. But that is not how physics works, so it is truly a stupid ending.
