2. Psycho Beach Party (2000) - Amy Adams

RottenTomatoes Score: 53% The Plot: A slasher movie set in the 1960s which takes aim as a send-up of surfer movies, psychodramas and the slasher genre all at once. Why It Sucks: It's certainly an ambitious movie and evidently has its fans as a dose of campy froth, though it's tough to deny that Amy Adams' appearance here is probably something she wishes wasn't on her filmography. Adams plays Marvel Ann, the boyfriend of Starcat (Nicholas Brendon), whose most memorable scene occurs when Starcat accidentally rips off her bikini bottoms, causing Ann to quickly hide her modesty and run off, humiliated. The movie as a whole is a testament to how irritating self-awareness can be: the whole joy of those cheesy surf movies is that they weren't bad on purpose, but this one is, and so it just feels like the filmmakers are trying too hard. As for Adams, the image of her trying to cover herself up could come with the caption, "Everyone has to start somewhere" and be used as a motivational poster.
