15 Awful Films Mission Impossible Actors Want You To Forget

3. Hick (2011) - Alec Baldwin

RottenTomatoes Score: 5% The Plot: 13-year-old girl Luli (Chloƫ Grace Moretz) flees an abusive home and meets a number of weird and (sometimes) wonderful characters on the road, namely kindly landlord Beau (Alec Baldwin), who offers her a way out of her predicament. Why It Sucks: Despite being adapted from an acclaimed novel by Andrea Portes, Hick is just too melodramatic for its own good, its inherent absurdity undermining the rather disturbing nature of several scenes involving Eddie Redmayne's rapist in particular. Moretz is an enormously talented young actress and tries hard here, but it's tough not to feel that she's being exploited for the sheer shock of it, rather than the movie actually offering her a compelling character and dramatically resonant story. Thankfully for Moretz and Baldwin, the film very quickly disappeared from the pop-culture consciousness and is largely forgotten. Largely.
