15 Awful Films Terminator Actors Want You To Forget
5. Lady In The Water (2006) - Bryce Dallas Howard
RottenTomatoes Score: 24% The Plot: Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti), the superintendent of an apartment complex, rescues what appears to be a woman, Story (Bryce Dallas Howard), from a pool he works on, only to discover that she's a character from a book, and evil forces are trying to prevent her from returning to her home there. Why It Sucks: This is where M. Night Shyamalan's decline properly started, because The Lady in the Water wasn't just a critical failure, but a commercial one too. While far from his worst work, the mythology just isn't as fascinating as the writer-director clearly thinks it is, and casting himself in a supporting role makes a large portion of the film rather difficult to take seriously. Yes, Bryce Dallas Howard is squandered like most everyone else, but the saddest thing is that Shyamalan somehow snagged an actor as legendary as Giamatti for his silly movie and didn't even give him much interesting to do. It's just a tired mash-up of ideas from his previous films mixed with other half-baked concepts that have no internal logic.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
