9. Maximus Decimus Fake-imus
UniversalRidley Scott's Gladiator is a film jam-packed with incredible fight scenes but is the protagonist's battle Tigris of Gaul a veteran gladiator who has returned to fight Maximus which is one of the more memorable. Despite being set upon by Tigers in the middle of their battle, Maximus is still able to overcome the odds and defeat Tigris (though he chooses to spare his life). Seeing that Russell Crowe's character actually had a large, replica tiger pounce on him diminishes his status as cinema's greatest ever Roman hero, as does the fact that he drove his axe into Tigris' prophetic leg.
8. Michael Myers Misunderstood
Warner Bros. PicturesMichael Myers' drink of choice may be misunderstood but he most certainly isn't. We see the antagonist of the Halloween franchise committing all manner of horrifying acts which establish him as one of cinema's most unsettling psychopaths. Indeed, in the very first scene where we encounter Myers in the 1978 original we are shown the maniac slaughtering his own sister. It is extremely strange seeing Myers unmasked but it is equally weird watching him chug a Dr. Pepper. Always trying to be different from the rest of humanity, Michael couldn't have just had a Coke...
