15 Best 2016 Horrors To Watch This Halloween
5. The Conjuring 2
The Film
The Warrens return to do some more paranormal investigating, putting this year's God-awful Ghostbusters reboot to shame in London.
Why Watch It?
Look, it's not as good as the original, but it's definitely one of the best - and justifiably critically acclaimed horrors released this year. The film actually deserved to make $320m on its comparatively small budget (more even than the first movie), and you have to suspect we'll get to see more from Hollywood's favourite paranormal investigators.
That wouldn't be the worst thing: thanks to the "true story" element and the strength of the characters, and there are some seriously chilling moments. It's a little light on the kind of jump scares some audiences judge horrors solely on these days, but it scores well for atmosphere and longevity, definitely.
