15 Best Alien Movie Deaths
11. Ripley-7 (Alien: Resurrection)
It’s scenes like this one that remind us it’s okay to cheer when characters like Dr. Gediman meet gruesome ends.
When Ripley-8 stumbles across a laboratory on the USM Auriga, she discovers the sickening reason she’s designated number eight: discarded test tubes containing the grotesque failures that made up the multiple previous attempts to clone Ellen Ripley. With mutated limbs, hybrid bodies, and forms slowly progressing from near-foetuses to the surviving Ripley-7, it’s quite an appalling sight, and a nightmare unlike any we’ve seen so far in the series.
Ripley-7 lays naked, inhumanely abandoned to live in agony as she laboriously manages to murmur a fairly common request in this franchise: “kill me.” Filled with loathing for the depravity of the men (and women) responsible, Ripley-8 complies.
It’s an underrated moment, and one of the most uncomfortable to watch in a franchise filled with gory happenings, forced impregnations and exploding ribcages. As terrifyingly brutal as the Xenomorphs are, at least they never did this.
