There isnt a huge amount of MCU movies on Netflix, at the moment. Captain America: The First Avenger is one of the best youll find. And although its often overshadowed by the gritty greatness of The Winter Soldier, its very much worth revisiting. Still Marvels only cinematic period piece, The First Avenger was a vital movie in the MCU. It introduced us to Chris Evans Steve Rogers, the first superhero in the movies shared continuity, who has gone on to become the title star of Marvels next massive crossover film, Captain America: Civil War. The First Avenger is more than just a standard-issue origin story, though. Its also an action-packed adventure, the only Marvel movie to feature a musical number inspired by one of the superheroes, and a heart-wrenching tale of doomed romance (Hayley Atwell totally steals the show, doesnt she?). Also, The First Avengers smaller scale is hugely refreshing in this post-two-Avengers-films world, and it has an impressive cast to boot (including Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones and Dominic Cooper). In short, then - this a movie thats primed for an enjoyable re-watch.
