15 Best Ever Robot Sci-Fi Movies

7. Bicentennial Man

Westworld Yul Brynner
Columbia Pictures

Bicentennial Man is based on an Isaac Asimov short story and centres around a housekeeping robot named Andrew (played by Robin Williams), a glorified appliance that becomes an integral member of the family he works for.

While Williams' robot looks a tad ridiculous, the story of a metal man striving to become more human and to be legally recognised as a person, not just a machine, is both touching and heartbreaking.

Experiencing Andrew's life journey, starting as a mere servant and progressing to a successful, valuable member of society with all the highs and lows along the way makes for a wonderful story.

Bicentennial Man was a box office disaster that drew criticism for being overly sentimental but give it a shot and you'll find a genuinely decent film that deserves better.
