15 Best Horror Movies Of 2017
11. The Void
The Void is the type of film that goes from 0-100 in the space of about five seconds. Starting with a man escaping from a gang attempting to murder both him and his friends, once an incoming police cruiser picks up the blood-soaked victim and takes him to a nearby hospital, the situation only manages to get worse from there.
With strange, unexplained supernatural occurrences happening in the wards and the entire building being surrounded by hooded figures, the predominately one-location horror film quickly descends into madness. Inspired by the best '80s genre flicks, there's a ridiculous amount of violence which, combined with the Hellraiser-esque monstrosities lurking in the depths of the hospital, results in one of the most unrelentingly brutal movies on this list.
Boasting some of the best practical effects this side of The Thing, the old-school vibe of The Void more than makes it worth checking out if you like your horror bloody, violent and most importantly, accomplished in-camera.
