15 Best Movie Villains Of The Decade

8. Erik Killmonger - Black Panther (2018)

Considering the number of accusations levelled at MCU movies that there was a Villain Problem (big enough to have capital letters, yes), there have been a surprising, conflicting number of great villains in the franchise. And not just passable ones or conventionally good ones who serve a purpose - true greats.

Easily one of the best of the whole franchise came in 2018's justifiably mega-successful Black Panther, which saw Ryan Coogler adopt the overarching MCU strategy, but adapt in his own more personal story focus with the intertwining threads of a king rising into his position and another who had his birthright torn from him. It's another of those dark mirror set-ups, with T'Challa and Killmonger's lives following the same path and then fracturing and ending up being opposites.

Michael B Jordan's performance, on the back of more heroic roles traditionally, is great - an angry young man robbed of what he was due, twisted by a difficult life and weaponised through necessity. He's driven by injustice and that's way better than someone just vaguely out for power.
