An impressive comeback from Her helmer Spike Jonze (most recently seen shooting... A post #MeToo Azis Ansari stand up "special". Ooof), this gleefully anarchic documentary looks back on the legacy of the eponymous act and dives deep into the musical, artistic, and personal history of Ad-Rock, the late great MCA, and Mike D.
Suffused with the same flippant wit and effortless charm as their best musical output, the fast-moving and charmingly offbeat flick may not amount to more than a glorified greatest hits for fans of the band, but it's a superb start for the uninitiated and at the end of the day, is there really more that lovers of hip hop could want from a post-MCA Beastie Boys?
