4. Max Steel (2016)
Based on Mattel's titular action figure line and from the pen of Thor: Ragnarok writer Christopher Yost, Max Steel is probably best described as a "harmless" film: it's basically an off-brand, teenage Iron Man aimed squarely at young kids, and considering what director Stewart Hendler pulled off on a mere $10 million budget, it definitely deserves a few percentage points for effort.
Is it generic? Sure. Even a little dull at times? Perhaps, but it's surprisingly well produced and stylish given the price tag, Andy GarcĂa and Maria Bello class things up with supporting performances, and there's a goofy, Power Rangers-inspired tone which makes it a fine enough babysitting tool if nothing else.
Picking on a movie like this is just mean: it's not good, but it's hardly worthy of the thorough drubbing it received upon release.
