15 Best Netflix Original Movies You Probably Missed
2. The Incredible Jessica James
The Plot: Burgeoning New York playwright Jessica (Jessica Williams) is set up on a blind date with a man, Boone (Chris O'Dowd), and despite their initial resistance to one another, they eventually strike up an uneasy rapport.
Though the shell concept is rather on the familiar side, Jessica Williams' incredibly charming performance as an unerringly self-assured young woman has an infectious quality to it that substantially elevates everything around her.
While the movie should serve as a potent star vehicle for Williams, the fact that it landed on Netflix with nary a peep suggests it's going to strictly remain a cult gem above all else. Hopefully Williams might get more fruitful offers off the back of it, though. Do your part and give it a sit.
