15 Best Pieces Of Movie Music From 2018
9. "A Cover Is Not The Book" - Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt & Lin-Manuel Miranda)
Lin-Manuel Miranda may not have written any of the songs for Mary Poppins Returns, but that didn't stop the belated musical sequel still boasting its share of brilliantly catchy tunes.
The sure highlight has to be "A Cover Is Not the Book", a rousingly camp sequence which expertly melds live-action and animation while delivering an infectiously charming two-hander between Miranda and Blunt.
The sequel may not be a patch on its iconic predecessor, but the charm offensive during this number was simply irresistable (if not practically perfect in every way).
While it might lack the emotional resonance of the film's Oscar-nominated "The Place Where Lost Things Go", its sheer ludicrous bombast just barely pushes it ahead regardless.
