15 Best-Reviewed Movies From Sundance 2018

13. Mandy

Mandy Nicolas Cage

The second feature from Beyond the Black Rainbow director Panos Cosmatos is by far the festival's most buzzed-about film from the popular Midnight Premieres sidebar.

Mandy is set in 1983 as a blood-thirsty Nicolas Cage hunts down a religious sect who slaughtered his love. Widely praised for its ambitious, surreal visuals, darkly comedic tone and all-time bonkers performance from Cage, this sounds like just the ticket for those craving a well-made exploitation movie.

If the reviews maintain the current trend, this will be easily Cage's best-reviewed starring role in many, many years, and what a wonderful thing that is.
