Search may not be the first film to take place entirely on a computer screen, but it is most probably the best.

Writer-director Aneesh Chaganty makes an ambitious directorial debut in this cyber-drama about a concerned father (John Cho) breaking into his 16-year-old daughter's laptop to track her down after she goes missing.

The film has been praised primarily for Chaganty's realistic use of technology to weave his mysterious tale, and a script that keeps the suspense running at a fever pitch, making the most of its central conceit rather than being overly constrained by it.

For his efforts, Chaganty won the festival's NEXT Audience Award.
