7. Mystique (X-Men)

Though Jennifer Lawrence is unquestionably the best-known iteration of Mystique, she's effortlessly overshadowed by Rebecca Romijn's vastly superior rendition from the original three X-Men movies.

The main issue with Lawrence is that, due to her frustration with the lengthy makeup process and a skin irritation it caused, she wore a blue skin-suit and only had her body painted from the neck upwards.

As a result she basically just looks like herself coloured blue, whereas the far more detailed work on Romijn achieved an intriguingly alien, almost feline look.

While Lawrence's suit had body markings built into the fabric, Romijn instead had prosthetic pieces applied to her body which gave her "costume" a far more tactile and distinctly mutant look.

Though Mystique tends to look quite different in the comics, the movie versions are popular enough that they've pretty much become the de facto design.
