3. Jeffrey Goines - 12 Monkeys
Jeffrey Goines is an ecoterrorist who acts as the main antagonist of 1995's 12 Monkeys.
Portrayed by Brad Pitt, Gaines is shown to be completely psychotic and delusional, hoping to create a world in which humans are extinct so that animals may reign supreme.
He is the leader of a cult known as "The Army of the Twelve Monkeys", which all share in his vision for a world dominated by animals. Bruce Willis' Cole is sent back in time to prevent the release of a plague which he believes was caused by Goines and the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, causing the two to become entwined over the span of a handful of years.
Goines is prone to involuntary twitching and explosive bouts of rage. He cares about nothing more than "fixing" the world, and he spends a fair amount of time trying to not only convince others of his sanity, but to sway them to his perspective.
It was an early example of Brad Pitt's impressive acting range, and he executed the role perfectly.
